The flag-bearer of the Convention Peoples’ Party (CPP), Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom has hinted he could be choosing his former contender, Prof. Agyemang Badu Akosa as his running mate for the December elections.

The First National Vice Chairman of the party, Dr. Abu Sakara is also being considered for the job.

Dr. Nduom however added that he could also spring a surprise by picking someone who is little known in the CPP circles.

He told Joy News’ Cyrus de Graft Johnson that he had told the NDC MP for Tamale South, Haruna Iddrisu to apply for nomination as a CPP vice presidential candidate.

The CPP flag-bearer was speaking in an exclusive interview with Joy FM after the launch of the party’s manifesto for the December polls.

“I am looking at somebody who first and foremost is qualified himself or herself to become president,” he said.

That person he said must love politics and want to be in government, he she must bring quality to the CPP ticket.

Dr. Nduom said the CPP was more solid and united than all the other political parties.

He said the CPP was the party that those who don’t want either NDC or NPP should lean on.
