Suhum, A strategic town in the Eastern Region has been thrown into a state of panic again following fresh mysterious killings which have rocked the town.

Two people have been mysteriously killed in the past two weeks, sparking fears that the serial killings will this time round assume a larger scale and seriously compromise the security of the town especially as the general elections approach.

A middle-aged man by name Papa, according to DAILY GUIDE’s sources, was mysteriously killed at Ayekotse, a suburb of Suhum on the night of Saturday, August 2 while another person, whose identity is yet to be known, was murdered a week after at the Suhum Roundabout.

In the case of Papa, his body was dumped in a toilet at Ayekotse with his penis and tongue cut off while the second person, whose body was said to have been taken away by the murderers, was killed at the Roundabout with a pool of blood ‘decorating’ the location where he or she was killed.

Mysterious and serial killings are a common feature of the town known for its political passion and thus jeopardising its security and that of the villages surrounding it.

A prominent resident of Suhum and the manufacturer of Chocho products, Alhaji Mustapha Boateng has called on the security forces especially the police to intensify patrol in the town to avert further catastrophe.

When DAILY GUIDE visited the town last Sunday, the youth of the town looked so disturbed about the situation, arguing that after similar mysterious killings rocked the town about a year ago, they asked for government's intervention but nothing positive came out of that.

The youth are now passing the buck to politicians in the town, saying those running for the parliamentary seat in the town know something about the fresh killings.

“We seriously suspect that some power-drunk parliamentary aspirants who want power badly must be behind these fresh killings,” they alleged.

The youth have threatened to take the security of the town into their own hands if the police and politicians failed to do something about these fresh killings.

Meanwhile, DAILY GUIDE found out on Sunday that fully armed police patrol teams from the Police Headquarters were patrolling the town in the night.
