Koku Anyidoho, Head of Communications of the Office of Professor Atta Mills, National Democratic Congress presidential candidate, has described as wishful thinking, claims by Dr. Obed Asamoah, Chairman of the Democratic Freedom Party that Mills cannot win any election in Ghana because he has no message to convince the electorate.

Obed Asamoah’s Wishful Thinking !

The Office of NDC Leader and Presidential Candidate, Professor John Evans Atta Mills, is drawing the attention of Dr. Obed Asamoah to the fact that his wishes shall never be what will determine the outcome of the 2008 election.

Dr. Obed Asamoah, on Asempa FM’s “Ekosii Sen” Programme yesterday, said that, “Professor Mills cannot win an election and subsequently become president of this country because, Professor Mills has no message to convince the people of this country to vote for him”.

Per the report on Myjoyonile.com, Obed Asamoah, when he was a member of the NDC, “advised the party executives against putting Professor Mills up as the candidate because he cannot win an election in this country”.

Obed wants to talk about the ability of persons to win elections?

What happened to his bid to be retained as the chairman of the NDC? Was he not humiliated at the polls by Dr. Kwabena Adjei?

If it were the case that Obed Asamoah’s wishes held sway, he would not have been trounced emphatically at the NDC’s 2005 congress at Koforidua, by Dr. Kwabena Adjei.

The fact that Obed Asamoah ran away from the NDC to form his non-starting Democratic Freedom Party, is ample testimony of the fact that the man who used to be an albatross hanging around the neck of Professor Mills, cannot have his way in the NDC, let alone in Ghana’s electoral dispensation.

Indeed, The Office of Professor Mills, though not perturbed by the utterances of Obed Asamoah, wants to make the point that Obed Asamaoh is a spent force in Ghana’s political dispensation, such that, his wishes will be horses only in his mind.

Professor Atta Mills is reaching out to the people of Ghana with his Better Ghana message, and the wishes of Obed Asamoah shall not barricade the Better Ghana message from sinking deep into the minds of the electorate.

There is a strong clamour for a Better Ghana, especially in the Central Region where Professor Mills is touring currently, and the Office of Professor Atta Mills hopes that Obed Asamoah will concentrate on giving a listless lifeline to his DFP and its nonexistent message, rather than expending his insubstantial energy on a useless effort that shall not derail the onward march of Professor Mills.
