A musician, Osei Danquah aka Vasco Abrantie escaped death when he was stabbed with a broken bottle in the throat twice by one Kennedy Antwi, aka Super, a car battery dealer, at Abrantie Spot in Accra.

The incident occurred at Abeka Lapaz last Saturday, at about 4:30pm.

The victim was rushed to the Achimota Government Hospital, after a report was made to the Tesano Police, who issued the victim with a hospital form to go for medical treatment.

Narrating the incident to Beatwaves, Danquah said Antwi, whom he claimed was not his friend and he had nothing against, had for sometime been threatening him with death. According to him, “anytime Antwi sees me, he threatens to kill me without any provocation. I once advised him to stop those threats since I had not wronged him in any way.”

He continued that on July 5, while he and friends were sitting at a drinking joint at Lapaz, he spotted Antwi with some persons coming towards their direction.

“Antwi started insulting me and an attempt to stop him proved futile as he stabbed me in the throat twice with a broken bottle,” Danquah narrated.

He further disclosed that since then the police have failed to arrest the suspect with the excuse that he had been asked to report to the police.

He indicated that he has decided not to pursue the case because he had no confidence in the Tesano police.

Danquah mentioned that he intends petitioning the Inspector General of Police on the issue because the suspect was going round boasting that what he did to him was just the beginning of more to come.
