The Tamale Girls International School Complex (TAGIS) in the Tamale Metropolis has been invaded by thugs who harass the girls and disrupt teaching and learning.

Mr. Albert Atutiga, Proprietor of the school told the GNA in Tamale on Friday that the presence of the thugs was impacting negatively on the school's academic work.

He said although the school was fenced, the thugs had burnt one of the dormitories and a store in the school.
That incident according to him is currently under police investigations

Mr. Atutiga said, "because we are a girls' school and in the middle of the town, we are very strict about boys entering the campus during odd hours. I believe that is why some of the boys around are not comfortable with the measure and have to resort to harassment."

He said because of the current harassment, management had beefed up security in the school’s premises.
